Rombs 2 by the great Oleg Dou
Today I want you to meet Oleg Dou, a Russian photographer and artist born in 1983. His style and images got stucked in my mind from the very first moment I saw them. I simply think he is sublime and the best example of perfection when working with images and photoshop. I still wonder how he can get that kind of perfection. Recently he has been chosen by Adobe to promote their last version of photoshop and I can’t really think of anyone better. Still I think he does not use only photoshop but also some kind of 3D software when creating his images.
He comes from an artisty family, her mother was a painter and art had a big influence during his chilhood. He started his career as web designer and this made him start studies of design which later became a passion for images and photography. In 2007 he received the International Photography Award and the International Color Award. Since them his art became international and he had various exhibitions in Europe and America.
For printing he uses the Diasec technique, acrylic over dibond. This technique enhances in great extent his images giving them an hyperrealistic look which make them even more perfect if possible.
Please take a look to his website and enjoy his genius. Spend some time looking at them and I am sure you’ll get Mr. Dou images stucked in your minds as they are in mine.
“I AM LOOKING FOR SOMETHING BORDERING BETWEEN THE BEAUTIFUL AND THE REPULSIVE, LIVING AND DEAD. I WANT TO ATTAIN THE FEELING OF PRESENCE ONE CAN GET WHEN WALKING BY A PLASTIC MANIKIN…” says Oleg Dou about his art.
